The AMA Handbook of Financial Risk Management

Selected for 2012 Innovation Award from Business Insurance Magazine

The AMA Handbook of Financial Risk Management (AMACOM 2011) by John J. Hampton has won Business Insurance Magazine's 2012 Innovation Award.

The Business Insurance Innovation Awards program recognizes leadership, inventiveness, and ingenuity in products and services designed for professional risk managers. An independent panel of judges comprising active risk management professionals selected eight organizations that was honored for their innovative products and services during an Awards luncheon held February 29, 2012 in New York City.

Products and services that are eligible for nomination are designed for and made available to professional risk managers that address one or more of the following risk management functions: risk identification; risk assessment/analysis; risk control; and risk financing.

The AMA Handbook of Financial Risk Management, published by AMACOM, the book publishing division of American Management Association, provides readers with the tools they need for dealing with the most important areas of financial decision making. Filled with strategies, principles, and measurement techniques, the book shows readers how to:

* Categorize financial risks

* Reduce risks from cash flow and budget exposures

* Analyze operating risks

* Understand the interrelationship of risk and return

* Manage risks in capital investment decisions

* Determine the value of common stock

* Optimize debt in the capital structure

The book clarifies key decision areas in financial risk management and enables anyone involved in the financial management of an organization to know what factors are at stake and how to protect the bottom line. American Management Association also offers a series of risk management seminars, including Essentials of Enterprise Risk Management and AMA’s Insurance and Risk Management Workshop.
